Obituary of Martha L. Pius

Martha L. Pius, 70, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Frank and Helen Dubaskas Koslosky. Martha was a 1971 graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School. She was employed for many years at the Mercy Hospital (Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre), prior to her retirement in August of 2023. Martha was a member of St. Mary’s Church of the Immaculate Conception in Wilkes-Barre. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Martha’s hobbies were going to the beach, the movies and going to out to eat with her family. She loved listening to Rod Stewart and going every August to the Little League World Series in Williamsport. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank Koslosky and Edward K. Martha is survived by her husband of 51 years, Chet R. Pius; and by her children, Brian Pius, Wilkes-Barre, Jay Pius and his wife, Nancy, Swoyersville, Kristine Pius and her companion, Tim Totten, Wilkes-Barre and James Pius and his companion, Dawn Dennis, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Kassadi Totten, Hailey and Hannah Pius; nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of life for Martha will begin with a visitation for family and friends on Monday from 5:30 – 7pm at the Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, with a Service to follow at 7 pm.
