Helen M. Hapersberger, 84, of Wilkes-Barre passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the Maple Ridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Kingston. She was born Pittston to the late Frank and Sara Bellanco Chernesky. Helen attended Pittston Area High School. She was employed by Star Garments as a sewing Machine operator and later in life at J.H. Beers, Morrissey Construction, and Lane Construction. She was a member of St. Boniface Church, Wilkes-Barre prior to its closing then St. Andrews Parrish, Wilkes-Barre. She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Stuber, Jim Thorpe, brother, Frank Chernesky and his wife Patricia, Toms River, NJ, nieces, Marilyn Royce, Patty Smith, Jeannie Beckelman of Pennsylvania, Christine Luland, and Laura Hoagland of Toms River, NJ, great nieces and nephews Michael, Margaret, Reilly, Melanie, and her beloved cat Madie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. April 3, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Church, Corpus Christi Parish 605 Luzerne Ave. West Pittston. interment will be in the West Pittston Cemetery following mass.
